Gential warts are the same as genital warts. They are also the same as many other diseases in that the symptoms are different from one person to the next.
They can come in clusters or they could be separate. They might be hard to spot or they could be raised above the skin. Because the color is the same sometimes they are hard to recognize as well.
Other symptoms of gential warts include…
- Discomfort or itchiness on the skin
- Swollen areas on the skin around the genitals that could be painful
- They can be small in size but grow over a period of time
- They can create a burning feeling on the skin of the genitals
- During sexual intercourse they could be painful or even bloody
In women they can be dangerous because many times they do not get detected. If untreated this can lead to cervical cancer therefore it’s important that women receive regular Pap smears on a regular basis.
In women this is also referred to as HPV. If you are diagnosed with this there are many treatments that can be taken including creams or surgery. Prescription drugs work much better than over-the-counter remedies.
If you think you might have genital warts you should avoid sexual contact until you can be seen. Because the virus is highly contagious and can be passed on to your partner you do not want to risk it.
Hopefully this information on identifying gential warts will be helpful to you. If you suspect you have them by all means see your doctor immediately.
